Towing questions

What's the difference between light, medium, and heavy duty towing?
Light duty towing is for cars, SUVs, minivans, and small pickups. Medium duty towing is for vehicles like box trucks, delivery vans, and many RVs. Heavy duty towing is for the largest vehicles, such as semi trucks, buses, and heavy equipment.
What information should I have ready when I call for a tow?
Your location, where the vehicle needs to go, its make, year, and model, and what happened. For larger vehicles, also tell us the approximate weight and whether it's loaded or towing a trailer.
Where can you take my vehicle?
Wherever you choose: your home, a repair shop, a dealership, a body shop, or another address. Tell us the drop-off location when you call.
Can you tow a vehicle that won't roll?
Often, yes. With flatbed towing, the vehicle is winched onto the truck's bed, so it can move vehicles with locked wheels, a broken axle, or accident damage. Tell us what happened when you call.
Do you tow motorcycles and RVs?
Yes. We carry motorcycles upright on a flatbed, and we tow RVs and motorhomes with a truck sized for the job.

Roadside and safety questions

Can you fix my vehicle on the spot instead of towing it?
Often, yes. We provide jump starts, flat tire changes, car lockout service, gas delivery, and winch-outs. If Roadside Assistance doesn't fix the problem, we can tow your vehicle on the same call.
What should I do while I wait on the highway?
Pull as far onto the shoulder as you safely can and turn on your hazard lights. If it's unsafe to get out, stay in your vehicle with your seatbelt on. If you do get out, stand well away from traffic. Call 911 if anyone is hurt or your vehicle is blocking a lane.
How do I describe my location if I don't know the area?
Look for the last exit sign you passed, a mile marker, or a nearby business or cross street, and tell us which direction you were traveling. You can also open the map app on your phone and read us your location.
What if my vehicle breaks down in a parking lot?
Tell us the name of the business or place and roughly where your vehicle is in the lot. We'll come to you, fix it on the spot if we can, or tow it if it needs a shop.
